oxfam_logo_115x110This innovative, three-year advocacy programme aims to transform civil society’s engagement in disaster risk reduction. It includes training on advocacy and campaigning for 15 civil society organisations in Nepal, Bangladesh, Solomon Islands, Dominican Republic, Peru and Mauritania, to enable them to:

  • Influence the content and implementation of DRR and development policies
Participate in planning processes that affect disaster risk
  • Monitor and influence national and local budget allocations to DRR
  • Promote the replication and scale-up of effective DRR measures.

The lessons from these experiences will be captured and disseminated using multi-media tools, and fed into negotiations on the post Hyogo Framework for Action and other development frameworks.
